Challenge Accepted!  2017 Biennial PLWA Conference

 Innovation Showcase

The 2017 Innovation Showcase will be a celebration of WA public libraries – presentations showcasing inventive and imaginative strategies that will inspire and energise.  This full-day session, held on Thursday 7 September, 2017 at the UWA University Club, is part of the 2017 Biennial PLWA Conference Satellite program.

Challenge Accepted!  The 2017 Biennial PLWA Conference will be focussing on how to address the challenges facing the public library profession and aims to maintain the momentum generated from the 2015 Conference, Game On!  The Innovation Showcase is an opportunity for WA Public Library practitioners to share successes, detail challenges and inspire library practitioners to accept the challenge of innovation.

If you have developed and implemented new ideas, programs or strategies, we want to hear about your experiences, successes and lessons learned.  Submissions from public library services or individuals on ideas and innovations that address the challenges facing public libraries are encouraged.

The Conference Committee will consider the submissions received, selecting those that best address the conference theme of Challenge Accepted!  Those services/individuals will be invited to present at the 2017 Conference Satellite.

Invitations to present will be sent by mid July 2017.

Submissions of up to 300 words should include:

  • A brief description of the innovation

  • A statement outlining how the innovation fits with the conference theme of Challenge Accepted!

  • Contact details:

    • Name/s of the presenters with their job title/s

    • Organisation name and postal address

    • Contact person's names, phone number and email address
